The compact town and ski holiday resort of Engelberg offers both easy and advanced skiing, and is little known compared to its other Swiss ski resort counterparts.
Engelberg is ideal for families with its traffic-free centre, its child-orientated facilities and its gentle ski terrain. However advanced skiers are also well catered for, with extensive off-piste skiing and challenging, high altitude ski pistes. With just over 80km of ski pistes, the ski area at Engelberg is not huge, but the off piste ski terrain does much to expand the ski terrain size. Access to the local Titlis glacier ensures good snow reliability, as does the predominantly north-facing aspect of the ski pistes. Après ski in Engelberg includes numerous bars, clubs and restaurants as well as a casino.
